Seventeen Seconds

Yesterday was day one of what I am calling the 2008 Charlotte whitewater extravaganza. With five races going on concurrently, what else is it? Day one was a very flowing course with some deceptive moves, but nothing exceptionally outrageous.

On my first run, I put up a positively massive score, a 125. It was clean with no touches, but pathetically slow. This was slightly off Tad's blazing 93. On the second run, I capitalized on some of this room for improvement, running a 106 with a touch for a 108. This was most definitely more on par with where I want to be. Surprisingly, this second run after the first has relaxed me dramatically, leaving me feeling at ease and ready to have some fun racing during the next couple of days.

Today's course, the moves are much more the type of moves where you are either very much on-line, or very much off. There is going to be little in-between. Today will most likely have some pretty dramatic moments.
