Very few places in the country can you be at work by 07:30, be on whitewater by noon, and on a plane by 16:15. Charlotte, NC is one of those places.
After getting my boat repaired yesterday, I am going to get in a session on the whitewater when the water turns on at noon today. Since it is actually Monday, and I do have a real job, this means I have to do the work thing for a few hours this morning. Since flying to West Palm Beach to teach for the rest of the week, I am going to bust out with enough time to get in a session at the whitewater center beforehand.
While driving to work, I was thinking about how my day was going to go, the things I had to do, and what needed to be in my bag bound for West Palm. Although this is a pretty normal day in my life, how many places in this country is it possible to have a day like this be realistic or normal? It isn't always easy, but in Charlotte, it is possible to actually have a life and train. In this country, this is a first.
